Kenzie is just getting so big when I think about it, it sometimes makes me a little sad because she is not a baby she is a toddler in every way now. She has always loved to color but it would only entertain her for like 5 seconds now she just loves it and she gets so into it the other night I think she colored for about an hour. She uses her crayons and markers and she is so cute she just doesn't color the whole page she tells me that she will color certain things like Elmo's eyes orange, (which just for everyone's information is her favorite color right now, if you give her a choice that involves a color it will be orange every time, the other night while driving home she told me she saw an orange dog with a purple spot on it.) Then when she is done coloring she loves to put stickers on her masterpiece. And she loves to show daddy what she has done when he gets home and then hang it on our fridge.
Finally on a weekend when it wasn't raining we brought out the Elmo sprinkler that I bought Kenzie last year which she just wanted nothing to do with last year.... but this year because it was Elmo she was a little more intrigued. She ran through a few times with mom and grandma and liked it but as soon as water got in her eyes that was the end on that she just kept saying "NO NO NO" next time I will have to try sunglasses on her.
These next two pictures are just random ones of our Mckenzie Lou she just makes me smile all the time the one with her under the chair I'm not sure what was going on all of a sudden I look over and thats how I found her. She loves to explore and climb anything and everything.
The last few weeks we have been going to the pool quite a bit. We go every Wednesday with Grandma Evans to the Provo pool, and the weekend of the 4th we went with dad to the payson pool and played with all the kids at the bbq in the kid pool . All of this was in preparation for Mckenzie's swim lessons which we are in now and she is doing really well (more on that later) here are a few pics of are first trip to the provo pool. She did really well it took her about 30 min to warm up and then she was splashing around and having a good time.
Here is Kenzie in one of her 4th of July outfits, She is finally getting some long hair in the back and I was just so excited and couldn't wait anymore I broke down and bought those tiny elastics at walmart ( they were such a good deal 400 for $2 in 7 colors) so I finally tried putting kenzie's hair in a pony I thought it looked cute but Matt said it looked like a guys hair so I tried to put a clip in front to make it look better but I don't know... (the first pic of her is her new smile)
The day before the 4th we went to the freedom festival in provo and spent the afternoon walking around the booths. It was really nice they had alot of free activites for kids to do and I next year Kenzie will want to spend the whole day there. They had this animal show there (the kind where they show spiders, snakes ect..) and Kenzie was intrigued the whole time, at one time the host put a scorpian in his mouth and I said gross and the rest of the day she said "bug gross" it was pretty cute she remembered that for a few days. They had a lot of free bounce houses for the kids to go in and slides, she went down with daddy quite a few times. We made a really cute USA fan at a craft booth, had lunch a tri tip sandwich yumyum!! And just enjoyed the afternoon as a family. We came home a took a three hour nap together.
For the 4th we woke up early and headed to provo to go to the parade. It was a lot of fun most of Matt's family was there so it was great to visit with everyone and Kenzie was able to play with her cousins. After the parade we headed to Orem to visit Adam and Tami and our new niece KATELEE she is beatiful. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Evans for a BBQ and playing in the water. Kenz had a lot of fun in the water especially playing with her cousins. It was a great 4th we just hung out with family till fireworks which was alot of fun this year kenz is really starting to like them. Especially throwing poppers.
Well I think we are officially done catching up... hopefully we just stay that way now:)
